The meeting was attended by the normal people. The good news in terms of membership is that we had a new member for the first time in a while. The discussion centred around three key areas:
1. Proposed scholarship to Eke indigenes - Mrs Agu presented her findings and three members were tasked to come back with a working document in our February 2010 meeting
2. Christmas party - this will be on the 12th of December. The two main organisers - Angela Chigbo and Nkechi Eneh have found a hall. These two have done a good job. More information when it becomes available.
3. Membership - this ongoing saga about owing dues/none attendance continue - two members have been assigned the job of coming up with a way forward.

August meeting in Leicester
Our meeting in Leicester went like a bang with approximately 20 members and their family. Our new President chaired his ever first meetingof the Association and everyone agreed the first signs are encouraging and we hope this new executive go from strength to strenght. Our out going President, Dan Nwankwo, gave a thumbs up for the first performance and thanked ex-executive members who led the Association for six years or there abouts. One of the outcomes of the meeting is a reveiw of the constitution by a named individual, yet to be decided, the executive meeting an hour prior to everey meeting, a christmas party committee, led bt ANgela Chigbo and Nkechi Eneh. I will add more when l fidn time. Enjoy the pictures. We had fun!!!

24th May 2009 meeting
This meeting was very well attended with more than 20 members. The main agenda item was the election of officers and we now have the following as our Executive members:
President - Kingsley Ifudu
V.P - EMeka Okolo
Secretary - Gloria Oforka
AS.- Ngozi Okolo
Financial Secretary - Charles Oforka
Treasurer - Codelia Ojielo
Welfare Officer - Joe Enebe
AWO - Angela Ike
Provost - Codelia Ugwu
Our Former Chairman - Dan Nwankwo, led us for more than six years and he was examplary in his dedication to our Association. I cannot recall a meeting he missed bearing in mind that his job takes him all over the country. Many an association in the Uk have desolved or are in such tumoil disarray - our former Chair has played a great part in making sure that we are still going strong. The former Secretary - Angela Chigbo, has also done some good work and deserves our thanks. Every good thing comes to an end.
Let's hope that the new executive strengthen the Association and explore if there are any benefits to charitable status. We can look and take advice from others who have already gone that way.
