I just came back from Nigeria where l spent almost all of my two weeks stay, in Eke. Quite honestly, my visit was so enjoyable. There were so many new impressive houses built and being built in Eke and the whole place was buzzing with the Igwnshi festival. There are definitely signs of progress both at Eke and Enugu. However, there is still much suffering.
The Igwanshi festival which l enjoyed as a young woman, was played out during my stay. That was a magical experience, watching young people dancing as some of us did and making up songs. I just joined in the whole thing with abandonment. Our children should behold it if we can. This is a positive aspect of our culture.
